General Questions

What is AtomicTracker?

AtomicTracker is a habit-tracking application designed around the concept of micro-habits—small, repeatable actions that build consistent routines over time. Unlike complex habit apps that focus on goals and achievements, AtomicTracker emphasizes daily consistency and making small actions easy to track and maintain.

Habit Tracking

How many habits can I track?

You can track as many habits as you need. Whether you're focusing on a single key habit or building a comprehensive routine with dozens of micro-habits, AtomicTracker scales with your needs without any limitations.

What types of habits can I track?

You can track any type of habit—health, productivity, mindfulness, learning, or any other area of your life. AtomicTracker supports simple yes/no habits as well as habits with measurable targets like "read 20 pages" or "walk 10,000 steps."

Can I edit or delete my habits?

Yes, you can modify your habits at any time. Change the name, description, target, or any other aspect of a habit. You can also delete habits you no longer want to track. Your historical data is preserved even when you make changes.

What happens if I miss a day?

That's completely normal and expected. AtomicTracker is designed to help you build consistency, not perfection. Missing a day doesn't reset your progress—what matters is getting back on track. Your streaks and history help you see the bigger picture beyond single missed days.

Can I backdate my habit entries?

Yes, you can add habit entries for past dates. This is useful if you forgot to log a habit or want to record historical data. Simply navigate to the date in your calendar and mark your habits as complete.

Can I export my data?

Yes, you can export your habit data at any time. This allows you to keep a personal backup, analyze your data in other tools, or maintain ownership of your information. Your data belongs to you.

Micro-Habits

What is a micro-habit?

A micro-habit is a very small action that takes just a few minutes to complete. Instead of committing to exercise for an hour, you might start with five push-ups. Rather than reading an entire book, you commit to reading two pages. Micro-habits are designed to be so easy that you can't say no to them.

Why focus on small habits instead of big goals?

Big goals often feel overwhelming and trigger procrastination. Small habits, by contrast, are easy to start and maintain. They build momentum through daily success, strengthen neural pathways in your brain through repetition, and are sustainable even on busy or difficult days. Small actions compound into significant results over time.

How do I choose the right micro-habit?

Start with a goal you want to achieve, then break it down to the smallest possible action. Make it specific and attach it to an existing routine (habit stacking). For example, if your goal is to read more, your micro-habit might be "read one page after brushing my teeth." The key is making it so small that it feels almost too easy.

When should I increase the difficulty of my habits?

Only increase difficulty when your current habit feels automatic and you've maintained consistency for at least 2-3 weeks. Gradual increases are better than dramatic jumps. For example, if you've been doing 5 push-ups consistently for 21 days, you might increase to 7 or 8, not 20.

Can micro-habits really lead to meaningful change?

Absolutely. The math of consistency is powerful: reading 2 pages daily equals 730 pages per year. Five push-ups daily equals 1,825 per year. Writing 50 words daily equals 18,250 words per year. Small, consistent actions compound into remarkable results. More importantly, they build the identity of someone who shows up consistently.
